My Hobby : Philately

Philately is the study of stamps and postal history and other related items. Philately involves more than just stamp collecting, which does not necessarily involve the study of stamps. It is possible to be a philatelist without owning any stamps. For instance, the stamps being studied may be very rare, or exist only in museums. Philatelists exist across the globe who either collect stamps or study some rare varients. There are different themes on which Stamps can be collected which includes but not limited to are politics, history , prominent personalities, national and international events, geography, flora and fauna, agriculture, science, monuments, soldiers, warriors, scientists, arms and ammunition, modes of transport etc... People collect stamps as per their wish. There is a possibility of showcasing your collection in the Exhibitions which are normally organized at State Level, National Level and International Level. Recently, India organized Indipex 2011 in Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from12th to 18th February 2011.

Errors : Philately

Recently India Posts released Stamps to commemorate on 2nd Africa India Forum Summit 2011. For the same The First Day Covers also were released with Error on Backside of the Cover. Initially, the cover released were with Mirror Image of the Map of India and Africa which was later on rectified and New Covers were issued with corrected design of Map. First Day Covers with Errors were circulated in Entire Country individually as well as with Presentation Pack but after realising the Error, New Covers were Printed which are still Not ...
